There's been updates to the tools available when bundling and serving resources in an Atlassian P2 server app. For this release we're updating how the Refined App resources are bundled and served to the client in order to reduce sizes and improve performances.

Refined for Confluence is our flagship product that had it's beginning over 10 years ago! That doesn't happen without causing some legacy in the product. For this release we've taken the time to clean out old legacy that isn't in use any longer. Things like the much-beloved-but-now-obsolete HipChat integration
In-App Advanced Theme-editor removed
In Refined for Confluence 6.1 we deprecated the in-app advanced theme editor. This has now been removed in 7.0. Instead, to build an Advanced Theme we will refer you to the IDE upload tool. Learn more here: Advanced Theming

Admin Delegation

We're introducing Admin Delegation in which a Confluence Administrator can grant permission for users or groups to configure the Refined App on different levels. We're introducing two new admin levels:
Refined Admin
Allowed to do all things Refined with out being a confluence Administer.
Site Admin
Allowed to administer a site. Note this admin level are not allowed to edit global features.
Since previous versions we've also had Category Admins, which are still available meaning we'll have three custom administrator levels. For a table outlining them see the ticket linked above.

Announcement Banner

Highlight key information, post instance statuses or just remind the users about the upcoming kickoff! Refined for Confluence get's easy addable Announcement banners for any item (including spaces!) in your navigation structure. Create new ones for entire sites or categories, or even individual spaces.
From the Refined administrator UI a new section is introduced: Announcement Banners. From here a admin (Confluence, Refined or Site admin) can manage or add new banners. You'll be able to add banners to the locations you have permission to administer.

Optional Create Button placement

In Refined for Confluence 6.0 we introduced a new create behaviour, moving the create button placement to better highlight that it's a global action and not tied to the currently rendered context. We've heard a lot of customer feedback wishing an option to display the create button somewhere else. In this version we're bringing such an option to the app, allowing the administrators to configure the create button placement.

Updated Layout editor

The Layout editor and its modules have been updated to adress bugs, include improvements and receive an updated look. There’s also some new features in here other than being able to import & export layouts. You can now copy a module by a click of a button to quickly set up multiple modules. It’s now also possible to define additional section permissions on a layout so that a section is only visible for anonymous uses. Useful for displaying a signup form or helpful links to get started.
