The Design Department's responsibilities can be categorized into two distinct areas:

Marketing & Brand

  • Primarily focused on traditional visual design.

  • Responsible for managing external communication channels like the website, social media, blog, etc.

  • Creates and maintains essential assets, style guides, and design repositories for these communication channels.

  • Ensures adherence to brand guidelines and maintains consistency in brand aesthetics across touchpoints.

  • Collaborates with other teams to design and maintain marketing and educational materials.

  • Mainly integrated within the Marketing department and influenced by their objectives (OKRs).

Product Design

  • Primarily focused on UX (User Experience) and UI (User Interface) design.

  • Responsible for creating and maintaining all design assets and systems related to products.

  • Instrumental in bringing new features and use cases to life by closely collaborating with development teams from problem framing to final implementation.

  • Maintains close relationships with developers and project managers to balance design and implementation requirements.

  • Engages with users to evaluate design alternatives and gather feedback.

  • Mainly influenced by the objectives (OKRs) of the development teams due to their tight integration within these teams.
