Team responsibilities
The Design Department's responsibilities can be categorized into two distinct areas:
Marketing & Brand
Primarily focused on traditional visual design.
Responsible for managing external communication channels like the website, social media, blog, etc.
Creates and maintains essential assets, style guides, and design repositories for these communication channels.
Ensures adherence to brand guidelines and maintains consistency in brand aesthetics across touch points.
Collaborates with other teams to design and maintain marketing and educational materials.
Mainly integrated within the Marketing department and influenced by their objectives.
Product Design
Primarily focused on UX (User Experience) and UI (User Interface) design.
Responsible for creating and maintaining all design assets and systems related to products.
Instrumental in bringing new features and use cases to life by closely collaborating with development teams from problem framing to final implementation.
Engages with users to evaluate design alternatives and gather feedback.
Mainly influenced by the objectives of the development teams due to their tight integration within these teams.
